I will admit that I’m not the biggest Saturday Night Live guy. I used to watch it a lot in the mid 2000s with Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Bill Hader, Fred Armisen, etc. Now, I’ll usually just watch some highlights on YouTube mostly because I’m out on Saturday nights (humble brag). So when I heard that Mikey Day was promoted from writer to a member of the SNL cast for the upcoming season, it took me down a YouTube binge of some of his classic moments.
Wild ‘N Out
Mikey Day was a LEGEND on Wild ‘N Out. Arguably a Top 3 Cast member besides Katt Williams and Affion Crocket. The White Boy Rap Battle is a solid clip, but I always expected this out of Mikey Day. Just perfect white boy humor.
David Blaine Street Magic
Hall of Fame Youtube videos. The whole series was laugh out loud funny, but parts 1 and 2 (above) were pure gold. If you say “Cheez-its! Cheeze-its!” to anyone in their early 20s, I guarantee that they will know what you are talking about. Other classic lines were “He put me down on the Ruf! On the Ruf!” and “WHAT THE EFF DAVID BLAINE.”
Kind of an under-the-radar video. It’s probably not the best Orlando Bloom impression, but just talking about Albinos shooting lasers out of their eyes is so fucking weird that you have to laugh.
Here’s to hoping Mikey Day does some David Blaine skits on SNL!
