Drake Gave Away $1 Million Dollars In The New “God’s Plan” Music Video

Best part of the video

SHE SAY DO YOU LOVE ME I TELL HER ONLY PARTLY I ONLY LOVE MY BED AND MY MOMMA IM SORRRRRYYY

It’s only February and this is starting to become the year of Drake. Following the success of his two recent singles, “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity,” Drake released the video for the former earlier today. It was no ordinary video. At the beginning of the video, it says “The budget for this video was $999,631.90. We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label…” The last couple of weeks, Drake was in the headlines for donating money to schools and buying out grocery stores in Miami. Now, we see it all come to fruition in the inspiring video.

Drake continues to rise in my books, both on the mic and behind it. I thought More Life was a big return to his earlier albums, which I liked a lot, and Scary Hours was extremely successful. Everything he does turns to gold. “God’s Plan” generated a MASSIVE 4.3 million Spotify streams in the U.S. in its first day, which set the record previously held by Taylor Swift. “Diplomatic Immunity,” also debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Drake the first artist to simultaneously debut two songs in the Top 10 twice. That being said, I’ve always thought Drake was super talented when it came to his other endeavorers such as acting and hosting. He has this charisma and energy in front of the camera that can’t be taught.

Just when you think he’s about to reach his glass ceiling, Drake smashes through it and continues to reinvent himself. I really want to see Drake back in television and movies so I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do. It’s all part of God’s Plan.
