Golden Globes 2019: Film Nominations Predictions

Welcome to the most wonderful time of the year. Forget Christmas and Hanukkah, I’m more interested in awards season. Various film circles and independent festivals have already handed out awards, but tomorrow marks the first major ceremony to announce their nominations in the Golden Globes. Many believe that the Globes are inferior to the Oscars, which may be the case, but I use it as a barometer to see the nominations and see how voters react to certain categories in order to see if it sets the tone for the rest of awards season. I personally enjoy watching the Globes more than the Oscars because it involves both film and television and every person at the ceremony gets wasted. What more could you want in an awards show?

The nominations will be announced at 8 a.m. ET on Dec. 6, but I wanted to get a head start on the announcement by listing my predictions for the film categories. I have an idea as to how the nominations will go, but per usual, there will be some surprises. Here are my predictions.
